Circuit of The Americas (COTA), located in Austin, Texas, is apparently closing until further notice, according to a statement posted on the multi-purpose motorsports and entertainment venue's website and social media feeds. Recently, MotoGP had to postpone the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas MotoGP race (originally scheduled April 3-5 at COTA) until November 13-15 and IndyCar has cancelled its AutoNation INDYCAR Challenge, originally scheduled April 24-26 at COTA. The changes were caused by the COVID-19 outbreak and temporary government bans on large gatherings. In addition to professional motorsports events, track days, and schools on its 3.6-mile road course, COTA also hosts large music concerts, festivals, and professional soccer and rugby matches on other parts of its vast property.
